The Pirates Of The Caribbean star is replacing fading supermodel Kate Moss as the face of Chanel, and these exclusive pictures show just why the French fashion house is paying her ¡ê500,000.

But tomboy Keira, 22, has had to work hard at cultivating a new, sophisticated image since landing the highly coveted contract.

Now she has scrubbed up nicely and is set to eclipse the Chanel old girls - Nicole Kidman, Catherine Deneuve and Vanessa Paradis - when the adverts are launched in September.

And while she certainly has a special place in her heart for her ‘Pirates’ role, Knightley recently revealed that she was “relieved” that she was moving on from the movie.

“This is such a relief. Not that I don’t enjoy all that Pirates stuff, but it’s not about my character - it’s about Johnny (Depp)’s character. It’s not focusing on emotional turmoil. It’s been great just to get my brain engaged,” Contactmusic quoted her, as saying. (ANI)
