Singer/actress Jessica Simpson has been accused of “hurting millions of fat people in America” by banning the sale of a secret fitness DVD.

The actress recorded the workout tape produced by fitness video company Speedfit ahead of her role as Daisy Duke in the Dukes of Hazzard in 2005.

But despite signing a multi-million pound contract, the 27-year-old changed her mind and banned its release, reports New York gossip column PageSix.com.

Speedfit owner Alex Astilean has now launched a lawsuit against her manager dad Joe after failing to secure a GBP5 million settlement from Simpson last year.

Astilean says, “They are hurting millions of fat people in America.”

Simpson’s spokesman tells the publication, “It’s a legal matter that’s in the hands of attorneys.”

More fallout from Britney Spears’s disastrous performance at the MTV VMA Awards last weekend… The reason for her dowdy ‘do? She and famed hairdresser Ken Paves had “creative differences” backstage shortly before the popstar was scheduled to perform. One source reveals that Spears ended up doing her own hair abruptly after dismissing Paves (Jessica Simpson’s mane man) just 30 minutes before she took the stage. “Ken was in the middle of doing her hair, and she just said, ‘You’re really annoying me! Get out,’” says the source. Pave was more diplomatic, saying, “I did go to Las Vegas to work with Britney. However, once there, I made the professional decision not to do her hair for the VMAs.” Another backstage staffer explained, “There were creative differences with the hair guy and he left. That was stressful.” To top it off, Spears refused to use a fashion stylist and dressed herself.

Paris Hilton may sport one of the bigger shoe sizes in Hollywood (she’s a ladies 11), but that hasn’t stopped the heiress from signing her name to a new line of footwear.

Access Hollywood has learned that the heiress has just inked a licensing agreement with the Antebi Footwear Group to launch a line under her name.

“My goal is to create a stylish and fun fashion line from head to toe,” Hilton said in a statement.

Hilton is known for partying in a collection of high-end heels and her line will offer her own versions of stilettos, platforms, wedges and flats. She is also planning a collection of sport shoes, which appear to relate to a new clothing line she is putting out, aimed at the athletic-minded.

“We chose to partner with the Antebi Footwear Group because the shoes will be a perfect complement to the sportswear line launching this Fall,” Hilton’s statement read.

Hilton’s shoe collection is expected to hit stores early next year.

Jessica Simpson is another Hollywood celebrity who launched a line of shoes. Her popular brand of footwear, which include heels, are sold in department stores including Macy’s.
