Gwen Stefani could be forced to cancel her Malaysian show after a Muslim group branded her “indecent” and “obscene”.
The singer, who is currently on the road with her ‘Sweet Escape‘ tour, is due to perform in Kuala Lumpur next month but the National Union of Malaysian Muslim Students want the concert scrapped because Gwen’s image offends Islamic beliefs.
Mohamad Hilmi Ramli said: “Her video clips promoting the event are too obscene. We want the organizers to cancel the concert, failing which we will ask the authorities to intervene.”
Ramli also slammed Malaysian mobile phone company Maxis Communications for promoting Gwen’s concert and exposing young Malaysians to “moral decay”.
He fumed: “Maxis has been staging a series of foreign acts to make a profit and to expose our young generation to things such as moral decay.”
Gwen’s Kuala Lumpur show is due to take place at the Stadium Putra on August 21.
The ‘Hollaback Girl’ singer will also perform in Australia, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, China and Hawaii before taking her tour to Europe.

Gwen Stefani says she wants more children — but not while she’s on tour and not until she’s done another No Doubt record. Her 1-year-old son, Kingston, has been traveling with the 37-year-old singer on her “The Sweet Escape” tour.
“I go from the tour bus to the hotel room to the concert venue — all while carrying my baby,” Stefani tells InStyle in its September issue, on newsstands Friday.
“He’s just getting into music. He does the whole head-bouncing thing,” she says. “I love him so much. He’s the best thing that has ever happened to me.”
Kingston is the first child for Stefani and her rocker husband, Gavin Rossdale, 39, who were married in 2002.
“Obviously I’m in a race to have another, but I don’t want to do it while on tour,” Stefani says. “And I want to do another No Doubt record.”
“But I can’t wait to get pregnant again,” she tells the magazine. “It’s so fun and consuming and romantic.”
Stefani became a staple in the music world with the 1995 release of No Doubt’s “Tragic Kingdom” record. British-born Rossdale, who fronted Bush, made his American debut with the more sober album “Sixteen Stone.”(AP)
Malaysia should pull the plug on the Kuala Lumpur leg of U.S. singer Gwen Stefani’s upcoming Asian tour because of her indecent dressing and obscenity, a Muslim students’ group said on Tuesday.
The 10,000-strong National Union of Malaysian Muslim Students said Stefani’s August 21 concert, which is part of her ‘Sweet Escape’ tour, would clash with local Asian and Islamic values.
Ethnic Malays, who are by definition Muslims, make up just over half of Malaysia’s 26 million people. Ethnic Chinese and Indians, who are mostly Buddhists, Christians or Hindus, form sizeable minorities.
Hilmi also criticized Malaysian mobile phone firm Maxis Communications for promoting the concert.
Maxis officials could not be immediately reached for comment.

It appears Gwen Stefani doesn’t “Heart” Forever 21.
Gwen’s Harajuku Lovers fashion line is suing popular retail outlet Forever 21 for trademark infringement, claiming the clothing chain allegedly stole designs from the Harajuku Lovers line, Access Hollywood has learned.
In papers filed in Los Angeles Federal Court, reps for Gwen’s Harajuku Lovers claim Forever 21 is marketing, promoting and selling products featuring a design “virtually indistinguishable” from Harajuku’s signature heart/box logo.
The lawsuit claims Forever 21 “changed a couple of words in the Heart/Box Trademark, which are inconspicuous and likely to go unnoticed by a consumer.”
Specifically, the lawsuit claims Forever 21 used the design but changed the word “Harajuku” to “Forever” and the word “Lovers” to “Love.”
As a result of the chain using a similar image, Harajuku has allegedly “suffered and continues to suffer damage to its business reputation.”

Sarah Jessica Parker has taken a subtle swipe at fellow fashionista Gwem Stefani as she gets set to launch her own clothing line, Bitten.
The Sex and The City star admits she isn’t a big fan of Stefani’s L.A.M.B. clothing collections, insisting items are too “high fashion.”
Speaking in the upcoming Glamour magazine, the actress calls Stefani’s designs “much more avant-garde” than her own, adding, “I don’t want to do that for women, because that’s not their lives.” She also doesn’t approve of the high cost of L.A.M.B. fashions.
She says of her Bitten items, “You’re going to be able to buy $200 worth of clothes, leave that store with six bags and be able to pay your utilities and take your kids some place special fortheir birthday.”
Parker tells the magazine she knows just what it’s like trying to raise kids on very little money: “I got all of my oldest sister’s hand-me-downs. And by the time I inherited them, they were really out of fashion.” (Contactmusic)
Gwen Stefani has always battled her weight and admits trying to keep her tiny figure is a “nightmare”.
Gwen told People magazine: “I’ve always been on a diet, ever since I was in the sixth grade. It’s an ongoing battle and it’s a nightmare. But I like clothes too much, and I always wanted to wear the outfits I would make. And I’m very vain.
“I eat healthy stuff most of the time, but I let myself cheat once or twice a day with a cookie or pizza.”
Gwen, who gave birth to son Kingston last May, was determined to shed her post-baby weight - no matter what.
She revealed: “It’s so much work afterward to get the weight off. If you just do it, it comes off. And when you’re nursing, like I am, your metabolism is like whoosh!”
The 37-year-old, who has been married to rocker Gavin Rossdale for four years, also confirmed she is keen to have more children soon.
She said: “Now I’m in a repeater zone. I just want to make babies and make records.
“I even wrote in a song, ‘You seem like you’d be a good dad’. “Gavin has lived up to my expectations, more than. He has always been very loving and romantic.” (Hollywoodrag.com)
