Courtney Love wants to launch her own perfume but is worried nobody wants to smell like her.

The former Hole singer - who has battled drink and drug addiction - wants to lay to rest her rebellious image and reinvent herself before she brings out the signature scent.

Courtney said: “These days stars make money by marketing their own clothes and fragrances but I’ve been reading a lot of books and attending a lot of marketing conferences before I go down that route. No one wants to smell like Eau de Controversy!”

Courtney, the widow of Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain, has turned to Buddhist chanting, Pilates and Alcoholics Anonymous meetings to help clean up her life.

She regularly sees a therapist and drug addiction specialist, and relaxes by watching her 15-year-old daughter Frances Bean play soccer.

Courtney - who is about to release her first new studio album, Nobody’s Daughter, in four years - said: “I’m really just a Beverly Hills soccer mom who wants to be a real estate mogul and design clothes.

“I know how to play the game now. I have to navigate the system, follow the rules and stop being a rebel. I can’t afford to be a 43-year-old rebel.”

Did Jennifer Aniston get a Boob Job?

September 17th, 2007

Few would doubt that actress Jennifer Aniston is in need of a boost. But while many heartbroken women would call on the support of friends to bolster their shattered morale, it seems the 37-year-old has taken things rather more literally.

As she stepped out to accept an award at a ceremony on Tuesday evening (January 9) her cleavage looked far fuller and more buoyant than in previous years. Her astonishingly buxom appearance sparked a rumour at the People’s Choice Awards that Aniston had paid a visit to a plastic surgeon for her impressively curvaceous figure. But an expert has said it is possible that the actress has managed to achieve her busty look with clever padding and a shrewd use of adhesive tape. read more

Victoria Beckham will offer her fashion ideas in a new book, “That Extra Half an Inch: Hair, Heels and Everything in Between,” to be published by HarperCollins in November.

“I’ve always been a girl’s girl,” Beckham, aka Posh Spice, said in a statement Thursday. “And I know from experience that making the very best of yourself is something any woman can do.”

Beckham is a member of the newly reunited Spice Girls and wife of soccer star David Beckham.

“I was never the 6-foot-tall pinup. I’ve always been the girl-next-door who got lucky,” she said. “I’ve come a long way in the last 10 years, but this book isn’t my attempt to tell you what or what not to do. It’s just to share some of what I’ve learned.”

According to HarperCollins, “That Extra Half an Inch” will offer guidance on everything from how to dress on special occasions to “how to feel confident and look great every time you leave the house.”

Beckham’s ability to sell books, at least other people’s books, has already been demonstrated. Last spring, she was seen holding a copy of “Skinny Bitch,” a diet guide by Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin that soon became a best seller. (AP)

Kate Moss dropped from Burberry campaigns

July 13th, 2007

Kate Moss Supermodel Kate Moss has received another blow, for she has been dropped by Burberry from their latest advertising campaign in favour of younger British faces.

Upmarket fashion label Burberry originally dumped Moss following allegations of cocaine-snorting in September 2005, but became one of the first brands to rehire her last year.

But now Burberry bosses have revealed that their next campaign will feature models who are more than ten years younger than Kate, reports The Sun.

The cast of the new Burberry campaign, shot by Mario Testino, includes 21-year-old Agyness Deyn, and 20-year-old Lily Donaldson, who will both feature in a series of ads along with up-and-coming indie brands The View and The Paddingtons.

Kate makes 30million pounds from her contracts with trendy brands and her Burberry deal is believed to be worth around 1million pounds alone.

However, a Burberry spokesman insisted that Moss, who has featured in 11 of its past 15 campaigns, was “still part of the Burberry family”.

This news comes just days after saucy undies firm Agent Provocateur dumped Kate, also in favour of a younger face. The underwear company paid Moss 500,000 pounds last year but has decided not to renew her contract. ANI

Nicole Kidman receives Australia’s top honor

April 13th, 2007

Nicole Kidman pic Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman, at home in Australia to make a new movie, was awarded Australia’s top civil honor on Friday at a ceremony at Government House.

Kidman was awarded the Companion of the Order of Australia by Governor-General Michael Jeffery for her contribution to cinema, and for her work promoting women and children’s health, and cancer research.

“It’s a pat on the back, which as a little girl is something you dream of,” Kidman told reporters after receiving her award.

The Companion of the Order of Australia is the nation’s highest honor, equivalent to an English knighthood, and is awarded for “eminent achievement and merit of the highest degree in service to Australia or humanity at large.”

Kidman was presented with her award alongside other recipients, Australian medical researchers and Nobel prize winners Barry Marshall and Robin Warren, and Australia’s top economic adviser, Treasury Secretary Ken Henry.

Kidman, a UNICEF goodwill ambassador, won a best actress Oscar in 2003 for her role in the movie “The Hours.”

Since returning to Sydney, Kidman has delighted Sydney residents by visiting the city’s annual fair, the Royal Easter Show, with her husband, country singer Keith Urban.

She also surprised horse riders in the city’s Centennial Park by going for a morning ride in a full equestrian outfit as she prepares for her role in the Baz Luhrmann directed epic romance film, “Australia,” to be filmed over the coming months.

Kidman will play an aristocratic Englishwoman who is pushed to the limits of her physical and emotional endurance in the movie, set in Australia’s outback about 60 years ago, the Australian newspaper has reported.

Rehearsals have been underway for the past week at Sydney’s Fox Studios, next to the city’s Centennial Park, where fellow Australian co-star Hugh Jackman has also been spotted practicing his horse-riding skills.

Kidman, who last worked with Luhrmann on the movie “Moulin Rouge,” thanked the director on Friday for giving her a day off from rehearsals to receive her award. (AP)
